Thoughts on Car Plus Motors for a boat purchase?

Hey all. New to the forum. I've been eyeing a pontoon boat on the carplusmotors.com website. The price seems almost too good to be true for a repo auction. Has anyone here actually bought a boat or vehicle from Car Plus Motors? A little nervous about the process and if they're legit. Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome! I can vouch for them. Bought a 2021 Sea Ray from CarPlusMotors last summer. Process was surprisingly straightforward. The thing I was most stressed about was the title, but they handled all the paperwork with the bank. The clear title was delivered by the courier right along with the boat. No headaches.

Yep, good experience here too. Not a boat, but I got a 2018 Camaro SS. Listing was accurate, no surprises. Car Plus Motors is a legit operation, you can get some great deals if you're patient.

The key is to read the reports they provide on the site. I find carplusmotors.com has more detailed reports than other auction sites. They're not trying to hide anything, it's just the nature of repo sales. For what it is, Car Plus Motors is one of the better ones.

I got a good deal on a side-by-side. My only gripe was the delivery was scheduled for a Friday but didn't show up until Monday afternoon. The delivery company could have been better with communication, but the machine itself was as described. Just plan for potential flexibility on delivery day.

@WeekendWarrior I had a small delay with my truck too but Car Plus Motors called me to give me a heads up that the 3rd party carrier was running behind schedule. At least they were proactive about it. Can't control traffic I guess lol.

This thread is timely! I just got my 2020 Subaru WRX from them two weeks ago. I echo what SaltyDog71 said about the title. I was worried I'd have to chase paperwork, but the clear title and all registration documents arrived with the car. It made the whole process feel really secure. Highly recommend CarPlusMotors.

A buddy of mine won a GMC Sierra on carplusmotors.com and had me go over it top to bottom when it arrived. I have to say, the condition report on their site was spot on. All the minor scuffs they noted were there, and mechanically it was solid. They represented it honestly.

We bought our Jayco motorhome through them. We sent an email to office@carplusmotors.com with some questions and it took them nearly two days to get back to us, which was a bit slow. We ended up calling and the agent was super helpful and answered everything on the spot. The RV is great and we saved a ton, so we're happy campers. My advice is just to call if you need a fast answer.

Good advice @RV_Nomad_Couple. Phone is almost always better. Btw, I got my Tacoma TRD Off-Road from Car Plus Motors. Best truck I've ever owned. The buying process was simple.

Has anyone used their financing options? Or do most people get outside loans?

@GTI_guy I just used my credit union. Seemed easier. The transaction with Car Plus Motors was just a wire transfer. They sent the payment confirmation and shipping info the same day.

I got a Lexus IS 350 for a steal. There was a tiny scratch on the rear bumper that wasn't super clear in the photos, but it was noted in the text part of the condition report. For the price I paid, I'm not complaining at all. It buffed out mostly. I'd definitely buy from Car Plus Motors again.

@BoatDreamer88 They have a good selection of fishing boats sometimes. A friend got a center console last year. Same story as everyone else, smooth deal, no title drama.

Good source for project cars if you know what you're looking for. The reports help you avoid total basket cases. carplusmotors.com has been bookmarked on my computer for years.

@BoatDreamer88 A tip for bidding on the carplusmotors.com website - use the proxy bid feature. You put in your max bid and it will automatically bid for you up to that amount. Keeps you from getting caught up in the moment and overpaying. Just set your limit and let it ride.

Got my daughter a Honda Accord. Was a little nervous buying a car sight-unseen but the confidence in this thread convinced me. It was a great experience. Car Plus Motors delivered. Car is in great shape.

The proxy bid tip is solid gold. Set it and forget it. That's how I won my Camaro without getting into a bidding war.

Just wanted to add another positive voice. My husband and I got a Ford Explorer from CarPlusMotors three months ago. The whole process was painless and the car is perfect for our family. So glad we went this route instead of a traditional dealer.

Wow, thanks so much everyone for all the detailed replies! This is incredibly helpful. You've really put my mind at ease about Car Plus Motors. I called them after reading the advice here and they answered all my specific questions about the pontoon. I just put in my max bid using the proxy feature. Fingers crossed! Thanks again for being such a great community.
